Who’s behind this thing

Just who is lesstitsnass?

First off, I love you guys too. ;)

My name is Karine Charlebois. I’m known online by my nickname Kanthara, and a lot of my work can be found online under that name. My website Kanthara’s Loft is a hub that points you in many directions: my professional blog, my DeviantArt and Furaffinity galleries, my twitter account and email; soon more links will be added to make this list exhaustive.

What do I do? I’m primarily a storyboard artist for TV animation. I’ve worked as a book illustrator, a video game storyboard artist, a 2D animator, a Flash designer and animator, a comic book artist, an architectural perspective artist, even a colorist for a bit. I’ve done commissions, I’ve created jewelry, I’ve sculpted figurines for a role-playing game, I’ve painted a few murals. When I go to conventions, I like to host panels on how to draw, and I’ve taught a storyboard class at a training studio for animation students and professionals. And I love what I do.

I’m not trained in the schooling sense, aside from the art classes one gets in regular school, but I did take life drawing classes for all of 2010 and would go to regular life drawing sessions until my schedule got too tight. I will find a way to get back into those because they are so valuable.

My credits include TV shows like Arthur, Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat, What’s With Andy, Fred’s Head, Pérusse Cité and others; they also include educational comics done for Rubicon Publishing and most notably Gargoyles and Gargoyles: Bad Guys published by SLG under license from Disney. More recent comic work includes a canceled series for a line of toys at MegaBrands and a few pages for The Gutters by Blind Ferret Entertainment.

I currently work on commissions, some small storyboard and animation contracts, and I wait for the pilots I worked on to be picked up as series, and for expected scripts for new pilots. And hey, just putting it out there… You can contact me if you’re looking to hire a visual storyteller. I promise I’ll draw women like they’re people. Honest!

Thanks for reading!
