Less Tits n' Ass, More Kickin' Ass

Technically any crap can make it into printing. The problem is that for example the two giants, DC and Marvel OWN their complete universes thus there is no other option than to buy whatever THEY offer. As long as the writer/story telling is good enough, the readers won't drop a story for the art even if it's terrible. I'm the opposite but most people put story above art.

Forgive the harsh words, but that’s bullshit. Each person has a choice to buy what they like, and many people have chosen to walk away from the two giants as you call them. Many people are selective about what they get from the big two because not everything the big two produce is crap. And there are people in this industry, INCLUDING PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR THE BIG TWO, who take great pride in the quality of their work and wouldn’t be caught dead turning in the kind of stuff I routinely critique and edit here at lesstitsnass.

Art and Story should work as a team. Sometimes good art will save a lukewarm story. Sometimes a great story will salvage poor art. People will get turned off if they aren’t satisfied, and they will make a choice then and there as to whether they want to continue spending money on a title. No one is twisting their arm.

WE ALL HAVE A CHOICE. Don’t you dare blame the big two for limiting your options. Open a freaking comics preview website, listen to a freaking comics podcast, and find something else to read if you’re so disgusted with what Marvel and DC are offering. There is tons to read, and many precious gems within most comics and graphic novel companies.

tl; dr: Don’t generalize and broaden your horizons.
